The department of Orthopaedics at SIMS & RC, Mukka is a premiere Orthopaedic programme. The department was started in 2011 with a mandate to create knowledge, advanced learning and improve musculo skeletal health and provide tertiary health care at community and provincial level.
Since hospital is situated along the national highway. It is one of the busiest department in SIMS & RC. All the Traumatic and Non Traumatic Orthopaedic cases are managed here with the latest method of treatment and equipments available.
It offers quality education to medical students who come from all over India, through our Undergraduate Teaching and Training Programmes and CME’s.
The department has adequate staffs as per the requirement of MCI, and they are highly experienced. They render daily OPD services and inpatient care. Accident and emergency services are provided round the clock (24×7) throughout the year. Our Physiotherapy department is well equipped with all the modern Physiotherapy equipments.
The department regularly performs advanced surgeries in Spine, Arthroscopy, Arthroplasty, Advanced Trauma Surgeries and Pediatrics Surgeries.

The department is well equipped with Library. Library has both national and international Journals, reference books, Monographs of Orthopaedics and various Orthopaedics text books. Any staff or student is allowed to access these books any day any time.
Our seminar room has a capacity to accommodate 40people. It has a LCD projection system and a board. Both the students and the staffs present seminars and also discuss interesting cases in the seminar room. The presentation of cases is made interesting and lively because of the presence of LCD projection system in the seminar room.
