Aarambh - Orientation programme for 1st BDS 2016

The orientation programme was organised for the freshers (I BDS batch 2016) by Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences on October 14, 2016 at the institute premises. The major objective of the programme was to make the freshers and their parents aware of the academic curriculum and rules and regulations of the Institute. The programme commenced with an invocation song followed by welcome speech by Prof. Dr. K Reshma Pai, Head of the Department of Pedodontics. Lighting of the lamp was done by our Dean, Prof. Dr. Manoj Varma, other dignitaries and few freshers and their parents.

Prof. Dr. Manoj Varma later addressed the gathering and expressed his happiness over successfully completing 4 academic years and stepping on to the 5th year of excellence. He emphasized on the overwhelming support, encouragement and blessings of Shri. CA A. Raghavendra Rao, President , A Shama Rao Foundation , DR. A. Srinivas Rao, Vice President , A Shama Rao Foundation and other members of the institution. In his brief address to the freshers and their parents he requested them to understand and sincerely abide by the rules and regulations of the Institute and full participation of parents in monitoring the performance of their children. He assured the parents that this is a ragging free campus.

To drive away the anxiety of freshers and their parents the senior students spoke few words about the college and their experiences. The newly admitted students and their parents also shared their experience in choosing this professional course. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Sreevidya Bhat, HOD incharge, Department of Public Health Dentistry. The programme was compered by Dr. Sheehan R Dsouza, Senior Lecturer, Department of Periodontics and Dr. Evette Natasha Amanna, Senior Lecturer, Department of Pedodontics.
