“WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY” IN MANGALORE

Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Dakshina Kannada District Local Branch Mangalore in association with NSS Unit of Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Mangalore organized World Suicide Prevention Day on 11th September 2017 at Valachil campus of Srinivas College of Pharmacy. Dr. Vrinda Bhat Kamath, Professor & Head, Department of Forensic Medicine, Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Mukka, Surathkal inaugurated the occasion by lighting the lamp as chief guest and highlighted on the theme “Take a minute, change a life” . She exhorted the gathering to lend their hands to help the needy and rescue the precious lives. She stressed the importance of Pharm D students in counselling the mentally challenged and depressed patients.

Dr. A.R. Shabaraya Principal and President, IPA, Dakshina Kannada District Local Branch Mangalore in his presidential remarks called upon the students to make use of the information in patient counseling to overcome the stress related disorders.

Professor, Mr. Shripathy D, Asst. Professor & NSS coordinator were present during the function.
