“INNOVATIVE PRACTICES IN CLINICAL TRAINING & PATIENT SAFETY”

INDIAN PHARMACEUTICAL ASSOCIATION, MANGALORE IN ASSOCIATION WITH SRINIVAS COLLEGE OF PHARMACY, MANGALORE ORGANISED 2nd NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON “INNOVATIVE PRACTICES IN CLINICAL TRAINING & PATIENT SAFETY” ON 20TH & 21ST FEBRUARY 2018.

“With sound knowledge, confidence and opportunity you can face the competitive world” said by Dr. Sriram, Prof. & HOD, Dept. of Pharmacy Practice, Sri Ramkrishna College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu while delivering the keynote address in the inaugural function by lighting the lamp in the 2nd National Conference on “Innovative Practices in Clinical Training & Patient Safety” at Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Valachil, Mangalore organised in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association, D.K District Local Branch, Mangalore on 20th February 2018.

CA A. Raghavendra Rao, President, A. Shama Rao Foundation, Mangalore in his presidential remarks called upon the delegates to contribute in research to bring out new things to the younger generation and make best of such conferences.

Chief Guest, Mr. Kripesh Krishnan, Associate Director, Global DATA & Safety Monitoring, Quintiles, Bengaluru advised the delegates to be prepared to face the competitive world.

Dr. A.R.Shabaraya Principal and Director, Srinivas College of Pharmacy and President, IPA, D.K.District Local Branch welcomed and introduced the invited guests to the gathering.

Guests of honour, Dr. Grace Mary John, Clinical Specialist, Believers Church, Medical College Hospital, Thiruvella, Kerala, Dr. E.V.S Subrahmanyam, Professor, Srinivas College of Pharmacy and Vice President, IPA, D.K. District Local Branch, Dr. Satish S, coordinator were present during the programme.

Dr. Padmavathi P.Prabhu, Asso. Professor, SCP, Ms. Agnes & Ms. Jewel anchored the programme. Ms. Ambika proposed vote of thanks. Delegates from Medical and Pharmacy colleges situated in Karnataka, Kerala and Goa attended the programme and presented their research work in oral and poster scientific sessions.

The Inaugural Session was followed by scientific session I, in 1st plenary session Dr. Sriram, Prof.& HOD, Dept. of Pharmacy Practice, Sri Ramkrishna College of Pharmacy , Coimbatore, Tamilnadu delivered a talk on “Clinical Pharmacist in Medication Error Monitoring”. In the 2nd plenary session Dr. Grace Mary John, Clinical Specialist Believers Church Medical College Hospital Thiruvella, Kerala delivered a talk on “Prudent Use of Antibiotics”, In the afternoon 3rd plenary session started with Mr. Kripesh Krishnan, Associate Director, Global DATA & Safety Monitoring, Quintiles, Bengaluru delivered a talk on “Overview of Clinical Data Management and Insights on Patient Safety”.

Scientific session II on 21/02/18

On the 2nd day 1st plenary session was started by Dr. Pradeep Vernekar, Prof.& HOD, Dept. of General Medicine, SIMS&RC Mukka Mangalore delivered a talk on Innovative Practice in Clinical Training, 2nd plenary session by Dr. M S Ganachari, Prof.& HOD, Dept. of Pharmacy Practice, KLE University, Belgaum, Karnataka delivered a talk on Futorology of Pharmacy Practice (Role of Pharmacist in Clinical Trial)

Valedictory Function

A valedictory function was organized on 21 Feb 2018 at the end of two days long conference presentations. Valedictory function was chaired by Dr. AR Shabaraya, EVS Subramanyam, Dr. M.S Ganachari, Dr. Karunakar Hegde & Dr. Satish S.

Dr. AR Shabaraya presided over the function, in his presidential address, thanked all the sponsors, advertisers, delegates, representatives from the media and the faculty and students for their magnanimous support and assured that Srinivas college of Pharmacy will organise more such activities in the future.

Dr. AR Shabaraya applauded the efforts of young presenters during the conference and urged them to continue their efforts in this direction at various national and international platforms.

Participation/prize certificates were distributed to all the participants during the function which was followed by feedback from the participants. All the participants appreciated all the lectures during the conference and requested the organizers to continue with such events in the future for the benefit of the students and to the department of Pharmacy practice. A few participants who gave their feedback on the conference praised the institution for hosting its first ever conference in such an impeccable manner and said that they were overwhelmed by the hospitality offered by the organizers.
