REPORT ON VIRTUAL TOUR OF PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY

Srinivas College of Pharmacy Mangalore in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association local branch Mangalore has organised one day virtual tour of Pharmaceutical industry on 4th July 2021. Dr. Manish Madhukar, General Manager, Indocco Remedies, Goa has participated as chief, guest appreciated the efforts of Srinivas College of Pharmacy for organising such highly beneficial online programmes even during the covid time, for the benefit of Pharmacy & allied health students and other health care professionals. He has further stressed the significance of research and advanced manufacturing techniques in Pharmaceutical industry.Dr. A. R. Shabaraya, Principal and Director, Srinivas College of Pharmacy and President, Indian Pharmaceutical Association and convener of this innovative, unique programme has felt that Pharmacy students were deprived of the benefits of undergoing training in Pharmaceutical industries and also the latest developments in manufacturing techniques, hence this programme was organised.Dr. K Krishnananda Kamath, Sri Sripathy D and Sri. Viresh Chandur Coordinators of the programme had successfully guided the tour of Pharmaceutical industry covering unit operations of tablets and Capsules which include different stages from the receipt of raw materials, manufacturing processes, Quality control measures, packing and storage facilities. The detailed explanation given by the Coordinators, impressed all the delegates, made to believe the whole programme was really experienced in true sense. More than 1600 students have registered for the programme.The Programme was followed by interactive session, wherein many professionals from industry, academia and students had participated. Faculty members of Srinivas College of Pharmacy had steered the interactive session in a professional way.
