National conference on “Innovative Practices in Clinical Training & Patient Safety” at Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Valachil
Srinivas College of Pharmacy in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association, D.K District Local Branch, Mangalore has orgnaised two day National conference with theme “Innovative Practices in Clinical Training & Patient Safety” on 10th and 11th March 2020.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Banappa S Unger, Scientist- E (Dy Director) ICMR-NITM, Belgaum on 10th March 2020. He advised the delegates to take up research in traditional medicine with due concern towards the patient safety and get trained with innovative ideas. Later he delivered a talk on “Drug Interaction”.
A book on compilation of published research articles 2019 of Srinivas College of Pharmacy was released by Chief guest Dr. Banappa S Unger.
Dr. A.R.Shabaraya, Principal Srinivas College of Pharmacy and President, IPA, Mangalore has exhorted the participants to make use of the knowledge and information gained on patient safety practices.
Guest of honour, Dr. Vrinda Bhat Kamath, Professor & Head, Department of Forensic Medicine Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Mukka, Surathkal called upon delegates to be skilled up in dealing with patient safety and she gave a talk on Innovative methods of clinical skill training. Resource persons Dr. Sarath, Professor & HOD, Department of Respiratory Medicine, A. J. Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Mangalore gave a talk on “Patient Safety-a Globally Shared Challenged”. Dr. Surulivel Rajan M, Associate Professor, Dept. of Pharmacy Practice, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical, Sciences, MAHE, Manipal gave a talk on “Clinical Pharmacokinetic and its application in Pharmacy practice”.
Dr. Satish S, Asst. Professor and Ms. Shwetha N, V Pharm D Coordinators of the programme were present. Dr. EVS Subrahmanyam, Professor, Srinivas College of Pharmacy and Vice president, IPA, Mangalore welcomed the participants and introduced the guests.
This conference had oral and poster scientific sessions. More than 180 original scientific papers were presented in the poster scientific session. Apart from this, conference also conducted quiz and Patient Information Leaflet completion (PIL) on topic of patient safety.
More than 250 delegates had participated in the conference. Ms. Architha, Ms. Agnes & Ms. Jewel anchored the programme. Mr. Rohan Shetty proposed vote of thanks.
