TWO DAY NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON “ADVANCES IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING SCIENCES” (NCAMES-2016)
The Two day national conference on “Advances in Mechanical Engineering Sciences” (NCAMES-2016) was inaugurated on 6 th may 2016, in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Srinivas Institute of technology, Mangaluru. The inauguration was lightened by Sri CA. A. Raghavendra Rao, President A Shama Rao foundation Mangaluru. Dr. L.L Raj Rodrigues, Prof & Head of Department of Humanities and Management, Manipal University was the chief guest of the function.
Sri CA. A. Raghavendra Rao in his presidential Address highlighted the importance of such conference which bring new innovative ideas and make engineers to learn about new things which helps to improve their knowledge and skills. The chief guest Dr. L.L Raj Rodrigues in his key note address motivated the participants and urged that the Engineers should have good soft skills and managerial skills to become a leader to direct the society in the right path. The patron of conference, Dr. Thomas Pinto, Head of Mechanical Department, addressed the gathering and mentioned that the quality of education can be improved only by Research and development in the field of engineering and social. He also quoted that the engineers must concentrate in the areas where we are struggling now like global warming, green warming and water problems.
The program convener Dr. C. G. Ramachandra, Head of Marine and Mechanical Engineering briefed the overview of Conference and mentioned that 149 conference papers were received and 110 papers were selected for conference after review. Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru and Dr. Ramakrishna N Hegde, Head of Aeronautical and Automobile Engineering were present on the occasion and wished the function for the grand success. The program was welcomed by Mr. Ravinarayana Bhat, Professor Department of Mechanical Engineering. Mr. U. Narayana Baipadithaya, Professor Department of Mechanical Engineering delivered the vote of thanks. Ms. Navya Hegde, Professor, Department of Aeronautical Engineering done the master of ceremony.
