Oral Health Week Celebration- 15th To 20th March 2015

Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences, a Unit of A. Shama Rao Foundation, conducted a successful Oral Health Week from 15th March to 20th March, 2015. This endeavor was well supported by Sri. CA. A Raghavendra Rao, President and Dr. A. Srinivas Rao, Vice President of Srinivas Group. The week began with a Free Dental Screening and Treatment Camp at Belman, in association with Rotary Club, Belman. About 50 patients received free treatment for various oral ailments. On 16th, a skit competition on Oral Health Awareness was organised for the students of SIDS, the winners performed the skit at an Oral Health Educational Programme on 18th for about 100 students of Srinivas Institute of Social Work. A spot drawing competition on "Healthy Teeth for Healthy Life" was also organised and three winners were given prizes on this occasion. This was followed screening Camp. About 65 students were screened for various Oral diseases and referral cards were distributed to avail free treatment for the same at urban dental health center, at pandeshwar. A Free Dental Treatment and Denture Camp was organised for inmates of "Chiranthana", Old age home at Surathkal on 19th march. About 30 inmates were benefited by the treatment. The week concluded on 20th March with celebration of Oral Health Day by a guest lecturer by Dr. K. Mukund, Senior Cardiologist, Head of Omega Hospital on "Systemic Implications of Oral Infections" to students and staff of SIDS.
