Oral Health Awareness, Screening, and Treatment Camp at Fisheries College

An oral health awareness, screening, and treatment camp was successfully organized at Fisheries College, located at Yekkur, Kankanady, Dakshina Kannada on 28th June 2025. The camp commenced at 10:00 AM with the inaugural program where the dignitaries were welcomed to the gathering. Prof. Dr. K Reshma Pai (Dean) addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of the dental treatments. Later the District Health Officer gave his thoughtful insights regarding how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The event saw active participation from the fishermen, employees and the students of the Fisheries college. A total of 62 individuals were screened, out of which 39 received necessary dental treatments based on their clinical findings. Treatments included oral prophylaxis, dental restorations catering to various oral health needs identified during the screening. To further promote oral health awareness, informative individual counselling sessions were conducted post-screening to educate participants about maintaining proper oral hygiene practices. The camp concluded at 3:00 PM and was marked by enthusiastic involvement and positive feedback from the attendees and the management of the Fisheries college.
