International Women's Day

AMNA, the women's cell of Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences, Mukka in association with the student council celebrated International Women's Day on 15th March 2025 at the SIDS auditorium with grandeur. The program commenced with a soulful prayer rendition by Sinchana, a third year undergraduate student. A warm welcome to the event was extended by Dr. Apoorva Kamath, the president of AMNA who also outlined the vision for the year ahead. Two exceptional women, Ms Shraddha Acharya (third year under-graduate student) and Mrs. Nayana (non-teaching staff) were both honoured for displaying exemplary strength, courage and perseverance against all odds. The dean, Prof. Dr. K. Reshma Pai spoke on the empowering women and called for gender sensitisation across all sectors of the society while captivating the audience with touching personal anecdotes from her life. Dr. Pooja Naik, secretary of AMNA delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event. The formal function was followed by a cultural performance including a demonstration on self-defence by Ms. Shraddha Acharya and Mr. Hrishikesh (first year under-graduate student), a beautiful skit, a melodious instrumental percussion and an energetic dance performance by the students. The icing on the cake was when the staff and non-teaching staff joined the students to perform on the occasion. The event was skilfully hosted by Ms. Spoorthi and Ms. Nashra.
