KIDZANIA-CHILDREN'S DAY

The Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences organised 'KIDZANIA' - Children's day celebration on 15-11-2016 in their college auditorium. Children from each of the school adopted by the Department participated in the programme. The programme started with an invocation song by the children of Kalavaru School. Prof. (Dr.) K. Reshma Pai, Head of the Department of Pedodontics welcomed and introduced the dignitaries. Lighting of the lamp was done by the dignitaries on the dais. Children's day celebration programme was inaugurated by the school children. The chief guest for the event was Mr. K. Kishore Alva, Joint President- Project Development & Corporate Affairs ADANI- Udupi Power Corporation Limited, Vice President - Bangalore Chamber of Industries & Commerce (BCIC). He was glad to be a part of the programme and emphasized on the importance of children in the society. Dr. Natasha Amanna, Senior Lecturer, Department of Pedodontics presented the Departmental activities report. Smt. Vijayalakshmi Rao, Director, Srinivas group of Colleges wholeheartedly congratulated the staff of Department of Pedodontics for their achievements and Smt. Mitra A. Rao Secretary, A. Shama Rao Foundation highlighted on oral hygiene maintenance. Prof. (Dr.)Manoj Varma, Dean, Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences addressed the gathering and spoke about their commitment towards children. Prof. (Dr.)Lavanya Varma, Head of the Department of Conservative dentistry and Endodontics and all the other dignitaries distributed the dental kits to the school children sponsored by Indoco Pharmaceuticals . Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Vandana , Tutor, Department of Pedodontics . The celebration was concluded by the cultural programme performed by the school children displaying their talents. Speed painting talent was displayed by our intern Ashwitha Salian which was highly appreciated by the dignitaries. Our interns enacted a skit on oral hygiene awareness and importance of primary teeth. The celebration was a success as all the children and every one gathered thoroughly enjoyed it. Lunch was served for the children and they were happy and contented by our hospitality.
