International Yoga Day - 21st June 2025

The International Day of Yoga was celebrated with great enthusiasm in our college on 21st June 2025. The event was organized to promote the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of students and staff through the ancient practice of yoga. The programme commenced with a solemn prayer and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, marking an auspicious beginning. Following this, a brief introduction was given about the significance of International Yoga Day. Prof. and Head Dr. Praveen Shetty Department of Orthodontics on behalf of our Dean Prof. (Dr) K. Reshma.Pai then addressed the gathering highlighting the importance of integrating yoga into daily life for holistic development, while the Guest of honour and the yoga instructor for the day Mrs. Tanuja Sudhakar spoke about the history and philosophy of yoga, setting the tone for the session. Mrs. Tanuja Sudhakar, a renowned yoga instructor, then conducted a comprehensive yoga session in the college premises. She provided valuable theoretical insights into the philosophy and benefits of yoga, which was followed by a guided practical session. The exercises included warm-up stretches, basic asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), and a short meditation. The session was well-structured, making it accessible for beginners while still being beneficial for regular practitioners. The event saw an impressive participation of students and staff members, reflecting the growing awareness and interest in health and wellness practices. The participants expressed appreciation for the clarity and effectiveness of the instruction provided. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr Shruthi Hegde, who expressed gratitude to the management, yoga instructor, dignitaries, organizers, and participants. The celebration of International Yoga Day was a successful and enriching experience for everyone involved.
