
Childrens day celebration
As part Children’s Day celebrations, Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore organised various activities on 14/11/2024 and 21/11/2024.The main objective was to create awareness about speciality of Pediatric Dentistry and Importance of Oral Health. On 14/11/2024, Department celebration titled PEDO BLOOMS. The Department celebrated Children’s Day with the vibrant theme of Pedo Bloom, creating an engaging and joyful atmosphere for the children. The department was beautifully decorated with a garden theme. The celebration began with a warm and cheerful welcome for the children. The children were then encouraged to participate in singing song. A variety of fun and interactive games were organized to keep the children engaged. Activities included planting saplings, tattoo making, and painting with different leaves, and the ever-popular musical chair game, which brought out their excitement and energy which were enjoyed by all. The highlight of the celebration was the cake-cutting ceremony, where everyone joined in to commemorate the special day. Chocolates were distributed to the children, adding to their delight. At the end of the event, gifts were distributed as tokens of appreciation, making the day even more memorable. The celebration was filled with joy, laughter, and meaningful engagement, leaving lasting smiles on the faces of all participants.The children's day celebration held on 21/11/2024 was a day filled with fun, joy and enthusiasm at Vyasa Maharshi Vidya Peet School, Mulki. The main objective was to create awareness about importance of oral hygiene, demonstrate correct brushing technique and encourage healthy habits to prevent dental caries. The celebration began with a warm welcome speech by Dr. Saisree, followed by a special session on oral hygiene by Dr. Shubhangi and Dr. Amrita. Children were taught the importance of proper brushing technique and maintaining dental health. Hands on practice under supervision to ensure proper technique. A skit was performed by the Interns informing the importance of good oral hygiene, daily brushing and care of the fallen tooth. The official program concluded on a vibrant and joyous note with dance performance where children led the dance. Various competitions were held later for primary students. These encouraged creativity, teamwork and healthy competition aiming to increase oral hygiene knowledge and boost their confidence. Puzzle activity on teeth was conducted aiming to engage children in learning about teeth. Children created vibrant painting through painting activity and expressed their understanding of oral health in a fun and engaging way. A memory game on good and bad to teeth was organised as a part of oral hygiene awareness program. It aimed to teach children the difference between good and bad habits related to oral hygiene in an engaging way.
