World Oral Health Day

To commemorate ‘World Oral Health Day’ Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences commenced the Oral Health Awareness Week - Mission Surathkal, Every mouth in Surathkal free of disease on 21st March 2022. Dr. Chandni, Head of Department of Periodontics spoke on the need for promotion of awareness and viable and economic treatment for the society. The program saw the lighting of the lamp and the Dean, Prof. Dr. Reshma Pai, addressing the staff and students. The formal program ended with Dr. Deepa rendering the vote of thanks and a street play and Oral Health Awareness March by the interns. In keeping with the theme, “ Be proud of your mouth” Sids has organised a three level awareness and management program to ensure a disease free mouth everyone can be proud of. 1st Level 1. The non teaching and ancillary helpers were interviewed to assess their knowledge 2. Screening and referral followed by free treatment was provided 2nd Level 1. Organise screening and referral in all the sister institutions of the Srinivas Group to create awareness and provide treatment for the staff and students over the coming week. 3rd Level Culminating in a Street Play and Oral Health March in Surathkal Junction followed by a screening camp at the Surathkal PHC for periodontal disease and providing of free treatment till 31st of April at SIDS.
