World No Tobacco Day program

May 31st, recognized globally as World No Tobacco Day, was dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of tobacco consumption. This initiative was spearheaded by the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology in collaboration with the Department of Public Health Dentistry.A talk was organised for interns and IV BDS students create awareness regarding the psychology of tobacco addiction among children and adults. The talk also included the tobacco cessation counselling procedure that can be undertaken at the tobacco cessation center.The program started with an inauguration. Prof. Dr. K Reshma Pai, Dean of Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences; Dr. Sreevidya Bhat, Professor Dept. of Public Health Dentistry; and Dr. Shruti M, Reader, Dept. of Oral Medicine and Radiology were present for the inauguration. The Guest Speaker was Dr. Mithun S, Associate Professor, Dept. of Psychiatry, Srinivas Hospital. More than 100 students and interns participated in the program.
