Women’s day celebration

The Women’s day celebration by Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences was held on 8th March,2022 with great aplomb. Dr Vinaya Poornima, Associate Professor in Radio-diagnosis, KMC,Mangalore was the chief guest and resource person for the day. The Dean Prof.Dr K. Reshma Pai, the president of the women’s cell AMNA Dr Haifa, the organizing chairperson Prof.Dr. Chandini and the secretary of AMNA Dr Varsha were the dignitaries on the dais. The program began with an art dance by the interns presenting the beauty and strength of Womanhood. This was followed by invocation and lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. The president of AMNA Prof Dr Haifa spoke on the goals and activities held by the women’s cell. At the outset of women’s day, collage and essay competitions were conducted among the students. Competitive events like musical chair,tying the knot , blindfold game, bursting the balloon, straw game were among those held for the support staff who participated in large numbers. The chief guest and the Dean distributed the prizes for the same. This was followed by the Dean Dr K Reshma Pai addressing the gathering. The dignitaries also presented the office staff and cleaning staff with sarees in recognition of all their efforts in the institution.Following this, Prof Dr Chandini introduced the speaker of the day, Dr Vinaya Poornima. Dr Vinaya spoke on the importance of mindfulness and living in the present .She also engaged the audience in sessions of specific breathing exercises to release stress and bring about better self-care. It was definitely an enthralling and fruitful session .The Dean was felicitated by the president of AMNA in honour of being the recipient of the “ Distinguished Woman Award” by the ISPPD. Cake cutting was also held in honour of the same. Dr Shivangi delivered the vote of thanks . Dr Ashwini compered the function.The formal program was followed by inauguration of food and game stalls which were organized by the students.
