Oral Screening Camp on 18/07/2024 & 25/07/2024

Oral Screening Camp At Vasyamahirshi Vidyapeeth Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences.As a part of the departmental activities an oral health awareness and dental screening camp was conducted on 18/07/2024 and 25/07/2024 at Sri Vyasa Maharshi Vidya Peetha, Kilpady, Mulki. A dental screening camp was conducted for students from LKG to 10th standard. A total of 1000 students were screened during the camp.During the camp, students learned proper brushing techniques and how to maintain their oral hygiene. They were educated on the importance of oral health and its relation to overall well-being. Additionally, they were advised on when to visit a dentist and the importance of seeking dental care promptly. To reinforce these lessons, a child demonstrated the brushing techniques to other children after being shown by the postgraduate students. A skit was performed on avulsion of teeth, educating students on what to do when it happens and the importance of visiting a dentist. Preventive treatments such as fluoride applications and the application of pit and fissure sealants were also provided to the students in the age group of 9 years to 11 years.Overall, the camp successfully educated the students about oral health and equipped them with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain proper dental hygiene.
