International Oral And Maxillofacial Surgeons Day 2024

Maxillofacial surgery deals with a very complex area of the body and involves treating diseases, injuries, malformations and reconstruction of the mouth, jaws and surrounding structures. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Day (13thFebruary) celebrates the birthday of Dr. Sorabjee Ginwalla, the first oral surgeon in India. The day was celebrated by Dept. of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences, Mukka with great enthusiasm and with informative events.Competitions like E-poster presentations, Quizathon and clay modeling were conducted. The event was concluded on February 26, 2024. The gathering was addressed by Dean Prof. Dr. K Reshma Pai and the OMFS faculty members. Madam stressed the need for wearing helmets and for road safety. Dr Rajeeth Shetty, gave a talk on “Awareness of Maxillofacial Trauma”The event was then followed by the distribution of prizes to the winners of the competition.
