Childrens day Celebration 2023

Celebrating wonder of childhood on this special day As part of INDIAN SOCIETY OF PEDIATRIC AND PREVENTIVE DENTISTRY Children’s Day (Week) Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Srinivas Institute of Dental Science, Mangalore celebrated by organizing various activities from 17th November 2023 to 22nd November 2023. The main objective was to create awareness about specialty of Pediatric Dentistry and importance of children’s oral health. On 17th November, At Vidyadayinee School, Surathkal various competitions were held for primary students. These competitions not only showcased the creative talents of young participants but also provided a platform to showcase the artistic stroke. On 20th November, At Little Flower School, Kinnigoli various competitions were organized. From intellectual competitions like quiz to colourful competitions like collage making, vegetable printing and drawing were conducted. Vegetable printing focussed on nutrition and diet to foster awareness and encourage individual to promote building mindful eating habits. On 21st November, At Little Flower School, Kinnigoli. The Principal of the school welcomed the gathering and appreciated the treatment done by students and encouraged parents. Dean and Head of Department, Dept of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences Prof Dr K Reshma Pai shared valuable insights on oral health of children and addressed the gathering. Dr David Rosario Medical Superintendent from Srinivas Hospital shared insight on Childs overall health.Today’s kids are the future, to nurture their potential, with the support and help from the Srinivas University Management we distributed books and stationery to students. As a token of gratitude Principal of little flower school was presented with memento. A skit presented by interns raised awareness on Avulsion of tooth and its management followed by oral health talk brushing technique and various treatment procedures to preserve integrity of tooth was aimed on creating awareness among parents teachers and children. ON 22ND November, Department Celebrations titled PEDO HERO : The heroes of tomorrow The atmosphere of department was filled with infectious energy of our super heroes and heroines from Vidyadayinee School, Surathkal decked up in masks and capes dancing with pom poms. Our Dean and Head of Department, Dept of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences Prof Dr K Reshma Pai shared valuable insights on oral health of children and welcomed the gathering. To mark this event an auspicious one, we commenced the program with the Prayer song by an intern followed by Lighting of lamp.The program was inaugurated by cutting the cake. Various Talent shows like dance singing by students of 3rd and 4th standard stole the spotlight of the program. Fun filled games doubled the joy and enthusiasm of the children, followed by snacks. The event was wrapped up by distributing gifts.
